Chocolate Orange Brownies

Chocolate Orange Brownies

Over the past 3 weeks i ran a competition over on Facebook to win some brownies the rules were to just enter with the flavour of your choice you would like to win.
The winning flavour was Chocolate orange.

Ingredients
175g (6oz) of Unsalted Butter, Chopped up (you will also need a little extra of greasing)
75g (3oz) of Plain Flour
40g (1 ½oz) of Cocoa Powder
3 Medium Eggs
300g (11oz) of caster sugar
150g (5oz) Dark Chocolate (I use supermarkets own brand)
12 Chocolate Orange Segments

Method
  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (160°C fan) mark 4 and lightly grease and line a 20.5cm (8in) square tin with baking parchment.
  2. Melt butter, sugar and chocolate together in a heatproof bowl set over a pan of barely simmering water (make sure the base of the bowl doesn't touch the water). When mixture is melted and smooth, lift bowl off the pan and carefully dry the moisture from the bottom of the bowl.
  3. Without letting the chocolate cool down, vigorously beat the chocolate mixture for 30sec, followed by the eggs. Add the cocoa and flour then beat again until smooth.
  4. Pour half the mixture into the prepared tin and spread to the edges. Place the Chocolate Orange segments on the top of the brownie mix and bake for 30-35min or until there is no wobble left when you gently shake the tin. Allow to cool completely in the tin
